This project explains our four program streams while sharing a bit about the Visions of Science visual identity. We are an organization focused on providing equitable access to STEM for youth who have been left out of the equation. Our programs show our robust methodology for social change, and our visual identity seeks to create a connection between our strategy and our youth and communities. We draw inspiration from sports, music, and urban culture to make STEM feel accessible, close, and exciting to our communities.
Our color palette is defined by a STEM concept: the visible spectrum of light. From there, we extracted the colors that define the look of each one of our programs.
From here forward, we’ll start with each of the four program streams. With each one, you’ll get a glimpse of our visual equation of bold typography, authentic photography of our youth, textures, grain, graphics, halftones, and high contrast to create a brand that better shouts our impact and creates a stronger connection with our audiences.

Sparking Curiosity
This program expands access to STEM through hands-on workshops and events in trusted community spaces. We represent this stream with the color magenta because its high frequency reflects the initial spark of curiosity. We focus on youth in grades 3 to 8 to ensure their first interaction with science is fun and inclusive. We partner with community organizations to introduce youth to STEM in ways that are relevant to their lived realities. This stream builds the foundation for the community-powered transformation we want to see.

Developing STEM Leaders
STEM Journey provides a multi-year pathway where youth deepen their knowledge and leadership through mentorship. We use the color red to represent this stream because its long wavelength speaks to our long-term plan for these youth. We support participants through key educational stages to help them navigate postsecondary pathways and future careers. We remove financial barriers by offering workshops, internships, and scholarships at no cost. This consistent support ensures our youth can persist through critical transitions and strengthen their identity as STEM leaders.

Building Support Networks
STEM Ecosystem strengthens the environments surrounding youth by supporting the educators and caregivers in their lives. We represent this foundational work with a blue teal color to signify the stable base our youth need to advance. We align learning across classrooms and homes to create consistent experiences that help youth build confidence. We provide partners with the right tools and resources to sustain STEM learning outside of our own programs. This network ensures that every young person has a reinforcing system to help them succeed.

Advancing STEM Access
STEM Research and Advocacy addresses systemic barriers to drive meaningful change across the entire sector. We represent this stream with an orange yellow color because its high visibility reflects the need to make equity a priority. We partner with academic institutions and leaders to influence policy and share community-informed insights. We center our work on challenging inequities to shape more inclusive pathways for everyone in STEM. This effort generates evidence and drives advocacy to make the need for systemic representation visible and urgent.
Our brand process is a constant exploration of how to better represent our mission and bring a sense of belonging to those we serve. We are building a dynamic and open brand that evolves to make everyone feel reflected and inspired. We believe that by merging community culture with STEM, we can change its perception and advance our mission.
Thank you for taking the time to explore our journey!
